When my son was born, my partner asked me: “I assume you’ll take time off, take all the time you need!” In that moment I realized, I can’t get very far from the company — it was like my first child.
The following months and years, our company went through challenging circumstances as it continued to grow. The need to balance home and work life led to some unique parallels between raising my child, and raising the company, some of which lent well to a piece at Forbes on parenthood.
